The John Muir and Pacific Crest trails merge as they pass through the monument.

Inyo Craters are the southernmost craters in a 25 mile chain from Mono Lake to Mammoth Mt. From the trailhead ( off the scenic loop) it is a short scenic trail shaded by a steady canopy of trees.
